The inner or second of the three toes is fitted with a long, straight, murderous nail which can sever an arm or eviscerate an abdomen with ease. There are many records of natives being killed by this bird

~Earnest Thomas Hilliard

It sounds an awful lot like this:

A six-inch retractable claw, like a razor, on the the middle toe. He doesn’t bother to bite your jugular like a lion, say… no no. He slashes at you here, or here…
[he lightly ‘slashes’ across the kid’s body with the raptor claw]

~Dr. Alan Grant, Jurassic Park

Hmmm…!

Lookalikes
Take a look here Cassowary compared to the Oviraptor for some interesting comparison pictures. I just love their feet and bright colours!

There have been documented attacks with one of the most notorious stories detailing how a boy died after a Cassowary pierced his jugular. The boy and his brother had just started beating it and it reacted defensively.

Enough talky talk, more pictures!!
